It was a pleasure to be Rob & Sam’s Canberra wedding photographer because of the inspiring day they planned. Weddings are made up of many exciting elements and this day was comprised of all the good parts because Rob & Sam wanted to prioritise their favourite things. They were true to their word. As wedding photographers we can’t ask for much more than the best Canberra has to offer and highlights included: an art gallery ceremony; pink velvet heels; a seriously stunning sequin dress and a fun balloon arbour to get hitched under. Their wedding cake and dessert was a celebration of doughnuts and was therefore immensely enjoyed by everyone. Special mention goes to the wonderful architecture of the modern buildings in Canberra. Architecture is a huge inspiration for us, artistically and visually, and there was so much to choose from that day.
The day flowed easily because everything was in Canberra’s NewActon area where there are so many great venues within a stone’s throw of each other! Rob got ready at the stunning Ovolo Nishi hotel. He then effortlessly made his way across the road to their ceremony at the Nishi Gallery. Sam joined him in a beautiful nook of the gallery to make everything official. Afterwards their incredible balloon arbour was carried next door to welcome their guests into Parlour Wine Room to party the night away.
Anything that is original and different to the norm is a pleasure for us to photograph. Rob and Sam are complete angels and the best clients a photographer could ask for. Sam’s beautiful and overflowing emotions upon seeing Rob that day is what feeds our soul, and with that, here’s a snippet of their day.
